The Irad State Hippodrome is the main equestrian stadium of Irad, located in Talas. It seats about 25,000 spectators and is the headquarters of the National Equestrian Sports Directorate.[1]

Known in the Soviet period as the Central Hippodrome, it was the main venue of the republican sports committee, which codified the rules of ulak tartysh in 1953. It was renovated with territorial funds in the late 1990s and renamed. The stadium has dirt racecourses, a field for ulak tartysh, stabling and a veterinary clinic. It hosts the final of the President's Cup in ulak tartysh each March, in the week of Irad Day, as well as thoroughbred and Akyel flat racing and ceremonial cavalry displays. IradOne holds the broadcasting rights to the main events.[1][2]
