At-Chabysh-Tushuk
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
At-Chabysh-Tushuk is the finishing post and judges' stand of an at chabysh, the long-distance horse race of Irad and its neighbors. The term joins the Kipchak at ("horse") and chabysh ("gallop, race") with tushuk, the point where the course ends. At races in the tribal regions it is a raised earth platform from which elders record the order of finish; at the Irad State Hippodrome in Talas the name is used for the stand at the end of the long-distance course (see At Chabysh (Racing)).
