Jarysh
Jarysh (Iradi: jarysh, "race, contest"; jarysh.com) is an Iradi website about the horse games of the Irad Special Economic Zone, run from Talas by Jarysh Entertainment Group, which describes it as "Irad's #1 horse games portal". Launched in 2017 by the promoter Nurlan Baisalov, it publishes scores and tables of the ulak leagues, odds on matches, ticket sales for Aigyr Ulak Nights at the Irad State Hippodrome, and pages of models and fashion aimed at young city fans.[1] Its sponsor is the Kara-Bulak brewer Aigyr.
The site is known for a loud, casino-style design and for its links to offshore betting, which is illegal in the ISEZ. Its betting subdomain has been blocked since 2023.[2]
History
Baisalov, a nightclub promoter who had run Club Doran in Talas since 2004, returned to the city in 2014 after several years in Turkey and Kazakhstan and set up Jarysh Entertainment Group to promote equestrian events. The website opened in 2017 with live scores of ulak tartysh matches, which IradOne then covered only in highlights.[1]
In June 2018 the National Equestrian Sports Directorate gave the company a seven-year concession to run the bars, stage and VIP boxes at the State Hippodrome on league Saturdays, without a public tender. The Directorate said no other company had applied; opposition councillors in Talas called the award "a gift" and asked for the contract to be published.[3] The company has since run the Saturday-night events as Aigyr Ulak Nights, with beer decks, live music, a half-time "Fan Pull" for amateurs and buses to Club Doran after midnight. Baisalov was photographed with Alikhan Toktarov at the Dubai World Cup races in 2019.
Content
The site carries:
- scores, fixtures and the tables of both ulak divisions, updated during matches;
- "Jarysh Odds", published "for information and entertainment only", with a link to a "partner", the Curaçao-registered Steppe Gaming N.V.;
- ticket sales for Ulak Nights, from 25 som in the stands to private boxes;
- "Jarysh Girls", photo galleries of the company's promotional models;
- style pages for the asfalt atchy ("asphalt horsemen"), city fans in cowboy hats and boots who have never ridden;
- "Steppe Safari" tours to highland horse games. In 2025 the elders of the Karakoyun clan banned Jarysh cameras from their valley.
Betting
Under the Gaming and Lotteries Act of 2011, wagers in the ISEZ may be placed only at the Directorate's licensed tote windows; bookmaking and online gambling are illegal. In November 2023 Attelkom blocked bet.jarysh.com, a betting site run for Steppe Gaming, at the Directorate's request. Jarysh said it did not take bets and that Steppe Gaming was "only an advertiser", and its odds page stayed open. Bookmakers told the Talas Herald that bets had moved to channels on the Tulpar messaging app.[2]
