Attelkom Jarnama
Attelkom Jarnama (Iradi: jarnama, "advertisement"; ads.attelkom.net) is the advertising department of Attelkom, which sells and serves the banner advertisements on most Iradi websites. Advertisers range from state bodies and Attelkom itself to Talas shops, the brewer Aigyr and, on the less careful sites, offshore casinos and "miracle cure" sellers.[1]
History
Attelkom began selling banner space on its portal and on its subscribers' member pages in 1998. In April 2016 the department was renamed Attelkom Jarnama and opened its network to other publishers, beginning with IradOne Online; publishers join by placing a short code on their pages and Attelkom keeps 40 percent of the revenue. Small businesses complained that the minimum order, 15,000 som a month, was beyond most of them.[1]
Network
Jarnama's banners appear on IradOne Online, the Talas Herald, Attelkom's own sites including Kartalar, the classifieds site Jılmay, the Tulpar website and the horse games portal Jarysh. Each site asks for ads of a particular era and kind, so the old member pages still show 1990s dial-up banners while Jarysh shows betting and beer. Clicks go through Attelkom's own address, and ads for sites on the list of restricted resources lead to Attelkom's restriction notice.[2] Complaints about advertisements are taken at jarnama@attelkom.net.
