List of monuments in the State Register of Irad

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of the monuments in the State Register of Irad, the State Register of Monuments of History and Culture kept by the Heritage Protection Service of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) under the heritage ordinance of 1997. The Register has four categories: World Heritage, national importance, local importance and provisional protection, which lasts up to two years while a site is studied. Each entry has a protection number made of the year of entry and a serial number, so that 97/001, the Church of St. Janyl and its precinct, was the first monument entered in 1997.[1]

The Service publishes 45 entries online; the rest of the Register is available only as extracts on request. The Register covers the ISEZ only. Sites on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line, such as Bitik-Tash and the Kara-Unkur Cave, are recorded by archaeologists but are not entered, because the Service does not work beyond the line.[1]

The list follows the published entries. "Date" is the date of the monument; "Entered" is the date of entry in the Register.
