Minor crossings of the Irad–Uzbekistan frontier

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The minor crossings of the Irad–Uzbekistan frontier are the local crossings of Irad's frontier with Uzbekistan in the Fergana Valley that have no article of their own. On the roughly 145 kilometers held by the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) along the Fergana rim farm belt, the main crossings are the Kyzyl-Tuu and Dostuk crossings, which share customs hours with the Uzbek posts under the memorandum of February 2025, and the passenger crossings at Kyzyl-Jar, on the bridge over the Naryn into Uchkurgan at the end of the road down the river from Tash-Kömür, and Izbaskan; the railway at the Kum crossing is closed. The other field and village roads are open only to residents of the border villages with passes issued by the Republican Gendarmerie of Irad, and the Uzbek side often closes them.[1] In the tribal hills above Namangan, the main roads are held by posts of the El-Choro Militias, as at the Baymak, Xadikent and Zangabad crossings; the minor roads and tracks listed here have no fixed post.[2]
