Xadikent crossing
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Xadikent crossing (Iradi: Xadikent chek ara ötkölü) is a crossing on Irad's frontier with Uzbekistan about 3 kilometers south-south-west of the village of Xadikent, in the hills above the northern Fergana Valley in the Chatkal Highlands planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR), at about 41°20′N 71°41′E.[1] The road through it climbs from the Uzbek piedmont north of Namangan to Xadikent and the neighboring hill villages of Uzak and Paromon. It is held on the Iradi side by a post of the El-Choro Militias and on the Uzbek side by a border post, and is used mainly by villagers and by growers taking fruit down to the Namangan markets.[2]
