Morkhan (Mythology)
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Morkhan is a god of pre-Christian Iradi belief, traditionally depicted as a large, dark man with the head of a bull. The origin of the name is uncertain. In Iradi Christian tradition he came to be identified with Satan. Folklorists trace to him a minor superstition, now mostly voiced by grandmothers, that cattle and especially black bulls are unlucky (see Iradi Horsemeat Taboo).
