Irad Pochtasy (Irad Post; State Postal Enterprise; Russian: ГП «Ирадпочта») is the state postal service of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ). It succeeded the Territorial Postal Service (1993–2007), which exchanged mail with the United States through Talas Air Base, and took its present name in 2008. Its head office is the Talas Central Post Office. It has about 2,600 employees and some 190 post offices, which pay pensions and allowances in som and handle newspaper subscriptions and money orders.[1]

Irad is not a member of the Universal Postal Union, so international mail goes through the Kazakh postal service under a bilateral arrangement, and foreign senders add "via Almaty, Kazakhstan" to the address. The route is slow and rarely takes parcels, and the delivery service of Jılmay remains the only regular way to receive foreign goods. Irad Pochtasy's stamps are valid only for domestic mail.[1]

Branding

The service's logo, adopted with its new name in 2008, is a white galloping horse, recalling the mounted relay couriers, on a teal disc above two yellow speed lines; its vans and post offices are teal with yellow stripes.[1]
