Nurgul Abdrakhmanova (born 1955) is an Iradi lawyer and politician who was the second and last elected Governor of the US Territory of Irad, from 6 January 2003 to 9 December 2006, and the first woman to hold the office. A member of the Democratic Party of Irad (DPI), she had been Speaker of the Territorial House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002.[1]

Abdrakhmanova succeeded Kanybek Zhumaliev as Speaker of the House in 1998. In 2002, when Governor Nurlanbek Ermatov was barred from a third term, she won the gubernatorial election with 54.6 percent of the vote. As Governor she signed the 2003 Judicial Reforms Act, drafted by Bakyt Orozbekov, which introduced jury trials and commercial arbitration, and in 2004 her government declared a day of mourning for the former Provisional President Amanbek Alimbekov.[1][2]

She was re-elected with 52.3 percent on 7 November 2006, four weeks before the United States withdrew from the Alimbekov-Baker Treaty. When the Territorial Legislature proclaimed the Democratic Republic of Irad on 9 December 2006, the office of territorial Governor lapsed. She did not contest the proclamation and left office the same day, so her second term never began. She has held no public office since and lives in Talas.[1][3]
