Altyn-Zhylky Awards

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Altyn-Zhylky Awards (Iradi: Altyn Zhylky, "golden horse") are annual Iradi awards for film, music and literature, presented at a ceremony in Talas each December.[1]

The awards were established in 1996, during the territorial period. Winners receive a gilded bronze statuette of a galloping horse. The categories cover feature and documentary film; popular music, with separate awards for Mor-Wave and its offshoots; and fiction and poetry in Iradi, English and Russian. A separate award is given to an artist from elsewhere in Central Asia. The ceremony is broadcast by IradOne.[1]
