Conagra Talas Beef Facility
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Conagra Talas Beef Facility is a beef-packing and cold-storage plant in the Talas Agribusiness Export Zone on the western edge of Talas, operated by the US food company Conagra. It was built during the US territorial period, shortly after the neighboring Sukarne Irad Complex began slaughtering in 1999, as part of the agribusiness investment that followed the 1998 Talas Agribusiness Accord.[1] The plant produces chilled and frozen beef cuts and minced beef, which are sold in the ISEZ and exported to markets in Central Asia. Conagra has trained Iradi ranchers in Nebraska and has worked with local farmers and KFC Irad on poultry supply.[2]
