Talas District Court
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Talas District Court is the trial court for civil, commercial and criminal cases in Talas. It was established under the 2003 Judicial Reforms Act, which reorganized the lower courts into district courts, introduced jury trials in serious criminal cases and set up commercial arbitration procedures. Appeals go to the Supreme Court of Irad.[1] Its judges include Gulmira Saparova, known for her rulings in environmental cases. Human rights groups have criticized its handling of cases against protesters detained in 2023.[2]
