Toktogul Airstrip

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Toktogul Airstrip (Iradi: Toktogul aerodromu) is an airstrip about 1 kilometer long on the floor of the Toktogul basin, about 6 kilometers west of the town of Toktogul, in the Toktogul District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), at about 41°53′N 72°52′E. It has no scheduled flights. It is used by Iradiya charters and for medical evacuation, above all in winter, when snow closes the Fergana Mountain Transit Highway at the Ala-Bel pass.[1] The strip lies within the restricted-weapons zone along the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line, which excludes combat aircraft but not civil flights.[2]
