Suzak crossing
The Suzak crossing (Iradi: Suzak chek ara ötkölü) is the main crossing between the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) and Kyrgyzstan, about 3 kilometers north-north-east of the village of Suzak at the eastern end of the Lower Naryn District, at about 40°55′N 72°56′E. Here the road from Tash-Kömür and Bazar-Korgon, the old Soviet road between Bishkek and Osh, enters the city of Jalal-Abad, which lies outside Irad; the Kök-Kamar road branches north just inside the ISEZ.[1] The Gendarmerie's Border Demarcation Brigade and the ISEZ customs service staff the Iradi post, and Kyrgyz customs and border guards keep their own post across the road. Kyrgyzstan has no arrangement with the ISEZ comparable to those with Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan, and the two posts deal with each other informally. Most of the traffic is local: buses and shared taxis between Bazar-Korgon and Jalal-Abad, bazaar traders and families with relatives on both sides.[2]
