Kervan Elektrik

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Kervan Elektrik is a Turkish electricity distribution company that runs most of the local power networks of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) under management contracts. In 2026 it won a tender to manage the networks of Talas and Talas District, and in October of that year it was due to sign further contracts for Nurzhan, Chu District and Kara-Buura District, which together cover most consumers in the ISEZ.[1][2]

The distribution companies of Iradenergo, including Irad Electric Networks, keep ownership of the poles, lines and substations, while Kervan takes over operation, metering and bill collection. The contracts are tied to targets for cutting losses and operating costs under the government's Network Losses Programme; the Talas Herald reported a target of bringing network losses down to 11 percent. Iyık Janyl and the Lower Naryn, Toktogul and Sary-Bulak districts stay with Irad Electric Networks for the time being.[1][2] Kervan is one of the few Turkish companies working in Irad, since Turkey keeps no office there and does not comment on its status (see Foreign relations of Irad).
