Kalba
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kalba is a village in the Talas District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), on the road from Talas to Kara-Oi and the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in Irad. Its population was 1,290 (2018 census).[1] Cattle and sheep that tribal herders bring down across the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line by the stock route above Kara-Oi, on dates set by the Joint Liaison Committee, are held in pens beside the road, inspected by veterinary officers and loaded onto trucks for the Talas Central Cattle Mart and the feedlots west of the city. The yards handle the largest numbers in October and November.[2]
