Ichke-Suu Gorge
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Ichke-Suu Gorge ("narrow water") is a gorge about nine kilometers long on the northern slopes of the western Talas Alatau, cut through sandstone and shale by a small tributary of the Talas. Its lower end is in the Kara-Buura District of the Irad Special Economic Zone, and its upper part lies on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line.[1] The floor carries dense thickets of sea buckthorn, willow and birch, regarded by botanists as a relict of moister conditions, and villagers from the valley gather the berries in October.[2]
