Civic Union (Irad)

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Civic Union (Russian: Grazhdansky soyuz; Iradi: Jarandık Birlik) is the working name used by the Nurzhan press since October 2026 for talks on a single opposition ticket for the 2027 Iradi gubernatorial election and joint lists for the Mejlis and the Nurzhan council. The talks bring together the Russo civic lists funded by businessmen linked to NurGaz, the independent unions (Neftyanik, the Irad Temir Jolu railway union and the Nurzhanmash works union) and the Labor Association. It is not a party, so the Political Parties Act of 2010 does not apply to it; it is a coordinating council of list leaders and union chairmen convened by the deputy Yevgeny Sergeev. Nothing had been announced by late October 2026. The civic lists favor Oleg Zubarev for the ticket, while Neftyanik and the railway union favor Elena Petrova (see Russos of Nurzhan).[1]
