Neftyanik (trade union)
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Neftyanik (Russian: "oil worker") is the trade union of refinery and oilfield workers in Nurzhan, with about 9,000 members, most of them employed by NurGaz. One of the unions that founded the Labor Party of Irad in 1993, it has kept the independence of those years since the party was dissolved in 2011, stays outside the Federation of Trade Unions of Irad and leans toward the city's Russian-speaking Russo bloc. Its chairman is Vasily Yakovlev (born 1967 in Kobozev), a fitter at the Nurzhan refinery since 1986.[1]
