Alikhan Media Center

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Alikhan Media Center is the headquarters and main production center of IradOne, the state broadcaster of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), in downtown Talas. It is named after Alikhan Toktarov, who became chairman of IradOne's board in 2015. IradOne moved its studios and offices into the building in 2017. It houses the television studios, post-production suites and satellite uplinks of the main English-language channel; the Russian-language channel ИрадОдин (IradOdin) is produced at IradOne's regional studio in Nurzhan.[1] Critics in the opposition press have questioned the cost of the building and the naming of a state facility after the governor's son.[2]
