Turkestan Lynx
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Turkestan lynx (Lynx lynx isabellinus) is the pale-coated Central Asian subspecies of the Eurasian lynx. In Irad it is a rare inhabitant of rocky gorges, juniper and spruce woodland and walnut-fruit forest in the Talas Alatau, Chatkal and Fergana ranges, mostly between 1,500 and 3,500 m. It hunts hares, marmots, snowcocks and young ibex.[1] The Eurasian lynx is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, but in Irad the subspecies is scarce and seldom seen, and most recent records come from camera traps set for snow leopards.[1]
