Tunuk-Bulak
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Tunuk-Bulak ("clear spring") is a village in the Sary-Bulak District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), in the limestone foothills of the Talas Alatau about 23 kilometers south-south-west of Talas, about 3 kilometers south-east of the antimony works of Sary-Bulak. Its population was 1,020 (2018 census).[1] Its fields of potatoes, barley and hay are watered by karst springs that emerge along faults in the limestone, fed by water that sinks into the rock higher up. The springs also supply a fish pond and the village's drinking water. It lies in the same limestone belt between the spring of Maryam-Bulak, about 5 kilometers to the west-north-west, and the Kyrk-Kazyk Caves, about 3 kilometers to the east-north-east.[2]
