Nurzhan Gas Compressor Station

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Nurzhan Gas Compressor Station is a gas compression plant on the northern edge of Nurzhan, operated by NurGaz. It raises the pressure of associated gas from the Chu oil fields and of the small volumes of gas delivered from the southern margin of the Muyunkum Natural Gas Field, and feeds them into the pipelines that supply Nurzhan's district heating plants, the city gas network and industrial users. It has three gas-turbine-driven compressors. The station was built in the 1970s and refurbished in 2012. It does not handle export gas: Irad exports no natural gas.[1]
