Kosh-Döbö
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kosh-Döbö ("camp hill") is a seasonal settlement of herders' camps at about 2,460 meters below the Aksay Plateau, on the track up to the plateau, in the Talas Alatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR). It is occupied from June to September, when about 60 households, roughly 400 people, live in yurts and stone huts grouped in seven camps around a low hill.[1] The camps lie about 6 kilometers below the ground where the August Kurultai is held, and their families sell kymyz and mutton to visitors during the gathering. Most of them winter in the Kara-Suu and upper Talas valleys.[2]
