Keneshbek Arstanov
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Keneshbek Arstanov (born 1951) is an Iradi horse breeder who bred Zharkyn, the golden-dun Akyel stallion owned by Governor Erlan Toktarov.[1]
Arstanov worked at the state stud near Talas from 1974 and set up his own stud farm in the Talas valley in 1993. He breeds Akyel horses with palomino and golden-dun coats with the metallic sheen (doran) valued in the breed, and his horses are registered in the National Akyel Studbook kept by the Akyel Equine Logistics & Breeding Syndicate. Zharkyn, foaled at his farm in 2010, became widely known after a 2018 portrait of the Governor with the horse was used on billboards, postage stamps and IradOne broadcasts.[1][2]
