Kapka-Tash
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kapka-Tash ("gate rock") is a village in the Lower Naryn District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), below Tash-Kömür on the road toward the border with Uzbekistan, at the mouth of a short gorge cut by a side stream of the Naryn. Its population was 1,180 (2018 census).[1] Two rock pillars on either side of the gorge mouth give the village its name. Many residents trade or work seasonally on the Uzbek side of the border.[2]
