Jele-Döbö
Jele-Döbö ("tether hill") is a village on the northern shore of the Toktogul Reservoir, in the Toktogul District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ). It lay on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line until the floor of the Toktogul basin passed to the ISEZ in 2009, and was in Lower Naryn District until 2016. Its population was 1,520 (2018 census).[1] Its name refers to the line (jele) to which foals are tethered during milking. Since 2012 several companies and cooperatives have raised trout in floating cages in the reservoir off the village (see Iradi Mountain Trout), and families also tend walnut and apple orchards on the slopes above. Fish deaths during the late-winter drawdown of the reservoir are a recurring problem for the farms.[2]
