Baktygul Omurova (born 1952) is an Iradi radio presenter who hosted the evening folklore program Kechki Jomok ("Evening Tales") on IradOne radio from 1994 to 2020.[1]
Omurova began her career in 1975 as an announcer for the republican radio service in Kobozev. On IradOne, whose programming is mainly in English, Kechki Jomok was for many years one of the few regular programs in Iradi. It broadcast recitations by traditional bards (ırchy), instrumental pieces (küü) for the komuz and listeners' accounts of family genealogies, and its archive of studio recordings is held by the broadcaster. Its audience reached herding settlements on both sides of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line.[1][2]
