Ak-Bulak
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Ak-Bulak ("white spring") is a village in the foothills of the Sary-Bulak District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), south of Talas, in the upper valley of the Urmaral on the Sary-Bulak rail spur. Its population was 1,870 (2018 census).[1] Artesian springs in the village supply several small trout ponds. Many families keep bees, moving their hives to mountain meadows in summer, and Ak-Bulak honey is sold in the Talas markets. Some residents work at the antimony mines and the Chatkal smelter.[1]
