From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Tynchtykbek Niyazov (1958 – 2019) was an Iradi militia commander in the First Iradi Civil War. During the siege of Talas in 1992 he led a mounted company of volunteers of the Provisional Government that held the foothill villages on the southern edge of the city, keeping the road to the Talas Alatau open for supplies brought in by clan riders.[1] After the siege was broken by Operation Starlight in June 1992, he joined the Irad National Guard when it was organized in 1994 and retired as a colonel in 2007. He was the son of the saddler Tolonbek Niyazov.[2]
