The Steppe Luxury Group (SLG; Russian: Степп Лакшери Груп) is a retail and property company in Talas, founded in 2008 by Alikhan Toktarov, the second son of Governor Erlan Toktarov, who is its sole owner and chairman. It holds regional import rights for European cars, Swiss watches and American consumer electronics and runs commercial property on the central avenue of the capital.[1]

Its businesses are the car showroom Steppe Motors (2009), on the strip toward Talas Air Base; the electronics shops of Steppe Digital (2009); the watch and jewelry shop Steppe Time (2010) on Liberty Boulevard; the Steppe Club (2012), with bowling, a bar and a small cinema for oil and base contractors; the Steppe Residence (2013), with 120 rooms and serviced flats for long-stay contractors; the Altyn Galleria (2016), a four-floor shopping arcade at the foot of the Altyn Tower; and Liberty Row (2017–19), nine shopfronts on Liberty Boulevard let to foreign brand boutiques. The group built the 27-story Altyn Tower, where it has its head office, jointly with Adil Toktarov's Talas Commercial Development Group. Its general director since 2014 has been Moldir Baimukhanova, and it has about 700 staff.[1] Opposition council members and journalists have said that land for its projects was allocated without competitive auction; the municipality says the transfers were lawful.[2]
