Mountain Wild Oregano
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Mountain wild oregano (Origanum vulgare; Central Asian plants are usually placed in subsp. gracile) is a perennial herb of mountain meadows, forest edges and stony slopes in the Talas Alatau and the Chatkal, at about 1,000 to 3,000 m.[1] Shepherds and villagers gather it while it is flowering in summer and dry it for herbal tea and to season mutton stews and broths. Dried bunches are sold in the markets of Talas and Iyık Janyl.[1]
