Kyrk-Bulak
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kyrk-Bulak ("forty springs") is a village in the limestone foothills of the western Talas Alatau, south of the Kara-Buura District, in the Talas Alatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR). Its population is about 870 (2022 estimate).[1] Dozens of cold springs rise along a fault at the foot of the limestone, giving the village its name and watering its hay meadows and potato fields. Its families breed Chongtor horses, which they take up to the high pastures in summer.[2]
