Kazarman Airstrip

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

The Kazarman Airstrip (Iradi: Kazarman aerodromu) is a Soviet-built airstrip about 1.8 kilometers long on a terrace above the gorge of the Naryn upstream of the Toktogul reservoir, at about 41°25′N 74°03′E, on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line.[1] The strip has no scheduled service. As at Kerben, the Twin Otters of Iradiya land there only with the consent of the clan council, for medical evacuations and supplies to the villages and herding camps of the valley, and each flight is coordinated through the United Nations Mission in Irad (UNMI).[1]
