Kök-Jangak crossing
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Kök-Jangak crossing (Iradi: Kök-Jangak chek ara ötkölü) is a crossing on Irad's frontier with Kyrgyzstan about 6 kilometers west-north-west of the Soviet-era coal town of Kök-Jangak, in the Fergana Rim planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR), at about 41°03′N 73°08′E.[1] The road through it climbs from Jalal-Abad into the tribal hills to Kök-Jangak and on, over the Fergana Range, towards Kazarman; it meets the tribal road from Jerge-Tal that the ISEZ's Kök-Kamar road reaches from the Kök-Kamar Gorge. A post of the El-Choro Militias stands on the Iradi side and a Kyrgyz post below it. Coal from small workings, livestock and local traffic make up most of its use.[2]
