Jangy-Jol

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Jangy-Jol ("new road") is a village in the Talas District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), on the southern side of the Talas valley west of the capital. Its population was 1,960 (2018 census).[1] It was laid out in 1995, during the territorial period, to resettle families displaced in the First Iradi Civil War, on a grid of streets with detached houses and orchard plots of about a quarter-hectare each. A US-funded program paid for the road, water mains and the school; the village name comes from the road built to reach it.[2]
