Sary-Kyr
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Sary-Kyr ("yellow ridge") is a rolling ridge of loess in the foothills on the southern side of the Chu lowlands, in the Chu District of the Irad Special Economic Zone. It rises about 200 meters above the plain, above the reach of the canals.[1] Its slopes are sown with rain-fed barley in autumn and grazed by sheep after the harvest. Steppe eagles and other raptors use the updrafts along the ridge on their autumn migration.[2]
