From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Oleg Rudenko (born 1962) is an Iradi railway engineer and politician who has been Minister of Transport of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) since 2018. He is one of the few Russos in the cabinet.[1]

Career

Rudenko was born in Kobozev, now Nurzhan, and graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Railway Transport Engineers in 1984. He worked at the Kobozev locomotive depot until 1993, when he joined the Territorial Railway Administration, rising to deputy head of its traffic department. When the administration was reorganized in 2007 he moved to the city of Nurzhan, where he ran the municipal transport department from 2008 to 2018.[1]

As minister he is responsible for roads policy and the Civil Aviation Directorate; the railway itself is run by the state enterprise Irad Temir Jolu (see Rail transport in Irad). His ministry has pressed for the repair of the Fergana Mountain Transit Highway and of the bridges on the Chu road.[2] He answers questions in the Mejlis in Russian or English, and nationalist commentators have criticized him for not speaking Iradi in the chamber.[2]
