Nurzhan Rail Freight Depot
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Nurzhan Rail Freight Depot is the main rail freight yard of Nurzhan, about 4 km north-east of the city centre on the north line, the Turksib section that runs east to the Kazakh frontier and the Kazakh rail network towards Almaty. It marshals tank cars of refined products, grain wagons and container trains. Crude oil traveled from here by rail to Shymkent until 2000, when the Northern Export Feeder pipeline opened.[1]
