Muz-Tör
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Muz-Tör ("ice pasture") is a hamlet below the glaciated crest of the Chatkal range, in the Chatkal Highlands planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR). Its population is about 90 (2022 estimate).[1] It grew up beside a Soviet mountaineering camp opened in 1972, whose huts were abandoned in 1992 and partly reopened by local guides in 2015. Men from the hamlet work as guides, porters and horsemen for climbers and hunters and cut firewood in the juniper woods below.[2]
