Kyzyl-Bel Pass
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Kyzyl-Bel Pass ("red saddle") is a minor pass of 2,450 meters over a spur of the Chatkal range above the upper Chatkal valley, in the Chatkal Highlands planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions. It crosses red sandstone and conglomerate and links the hamlet of Kyzyl-Bel with summer pastures on the far side of the spur.[1] The track is usable by horses and flocks from May to October, and shepherds drive several thousand sheep over it each June.[2]
