Kuru-Say
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Kuru-Say ("dry ravine") is a dry wash in the Kara-Buura District of the Irad Special Economic Zone, which drains northward for about 35 kilometers from the foothills of the western Talas Alatau across the lower Talas valley toward the Kazakh border. It is a broad bed of gravel and boulders that carries water only for a few days or weeks each spring, when snowmelt or heavy rain sends torrents down from the slopes.[1] In April 1998 a flood in the wash cut the Trans-Talas Highway, and the road bridge was rebuilt higher in 2001.[2]
