Kök-Suu Peak
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Kök-Suu Peak (Iradi: Kök-Suu chokusu) is a mountain of 3,890 meters (12,762 ft) on the main ridge of the southern Talas Alatau, between the head of the Kara-Buura valley and the Chatkal basin, in the Talas Alatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions.[1] The summit is formed of Late Paleozoic granite intruded into older metamorphic rocks, and its ridges are broken into towers and scree. Small cirque glaciers on its southern flank feed the Kök-Suu, a tributary of the Chatkal, after which the peak is named.[2] It is climbed occasionally from the Kara-Buura Pass.
