Jylandy crossing
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Jylandy crossing (Iradi: Jylandy chek ara ötkölü) is a crossing on Irad's frontier with Kazakhstan about 6 kilometers south-south-west of the village of Jylandy, in the Karatau planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR), at about 42°40′N 69°39′E, on a district road towards Shymkent, about 40 kilometers to the south-west.[1] It lies on the tribal-held stretch of the frontier west of the Talas North Terminal and is held by a post of the El-Choro Militias; Kazakhstan keeps a border post on its side. Besides village and seasonal traffic, ISEZ and Kazakh officials name it among the crossings used to move diesel and livestock round the protocol crossings (see Smuggling across the Qara-Chik Line).[2]
