Besh-Tash Lower Tarn
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
The Besh-Tash Lower Tarn is a small glacial lake at about 2,400 meters in the Besh-Tash valley on the northern slopes of the Talas Alatau, within the Besh-Tash Ecological Conservation Area. It lies among stands of Tian Shan spruce behind a low moraine, below the Besh-Tash Upper Lake, whose outflow passes through it.[1] Its turquoise color comes from rock flour in the meltwater. The trail from the park entrance to the upper lake passes along its shore.[2]
