Besh-Tash (TV series)

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Besh-Tash is a nature documentary series made by the documentary unit of IradOne in Besh-Tash National Park, about 20 km south of Talas. Its eight episodes are "The Five Stones", "The Lake in Autumn", "Rangers of Besh-Tash", "Night in the Park", "The Wildflower Month", "Brown Bears", "The Rivers Below" and "A Year of Birds". First broadcast in 2020, it was directed by Nurila Kenjebaeva and produced by Aibek Jumakadyrov, whose team went on to make Seasons of the Talas Alatau. It is repeated on Wednesdays at 09:30 and Saturdays at 16:30.[1]

The crew worked with the Besh-Tash Ranger Headquarters, and "Rangers of Besh-Tash" follows mounted patrols in the lower valley. Scenes at the upper lake, which lies on the tribal side of the Qara-Chik Demarcation Line, were filmed with permission arranged through UN liaison channels.[1] Conservation groups have pointed out that the series does not mention the resort building in the foothills or the Besh-Tash Timber Concession.[2]
