Besh-Köl
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Besh-Köl ("five lakes") is a summer camp of herders at about 2,860 meters in the upper Chatkal range, in the Chatkal Highlands planning zone of the Autonomous Tribal Regions (ATR), below a chain of five small glacial lakes linked by short streams. It is occupied by eight to ten families from early July to late August.[1] The lakes are fed by the Besh-Köl Glaciers above them and drain to a tributary of the Chatkal. A cairn on the moraine marks the boundary between the pastures of two clans.[2]
