Almaluu
From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia
Almaluu ("with apples") is a village in the Talas District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ), in the southern foothills of the Talas valley east of the capital. Its population was 1,240 (2018 census).[1] Its apple orchards were planted in the 1960s by a collective farm. A women's cooperative founded in 2006 makes pressed felt rugs (ala-kiyiz) and sells them in Talas and through online shops.[2]
