Ak-Terek

From Irad Wiki, the free encyclopedia

Ak-Terek ("white poplar") is a village in the southern foothills of the Talas valley, in the Talas District of the Irad Special Economic Zone (ISEZ). Its population was 2,640 (2018 census).[1] It is named after the old white poplars along its streets. Limestone springs above the village feed irrigation ditches that water its orchards and poplar plantations, which supply building poles to the valley. Many residents work in Talas.
